The Results Are In

March 18th, 2009

Matthew has an ear infection! The doctor prescribed him amoxicillin (banana flavoured) this is what his Mommy remembers being on ALL THE TIME when she was younger. The poor baby he is trying to act like himself (a monkey) but he is just not that into it. He is so sweet and smiling when he can I just wish he would sleep more because I know that will make him feel better for sure. Feel better Matthew. We love you so much!

The Words Coming Out Of His Mouth

March 11th, 2009

My parents were over yesterday for family dinner night, and my mom was feeding Matthew some boiled potatoes.  She kept saying “put them in your mouth Matthew.  Yes, in your mouth.”  He would stare at her, and put one in his mouth, or let her put one in.  Eventually, he looked up at her and said “Mow.”  He said it a couple more times, whenever she’d say “mouth.”  So yes, he’s starting to pick up on what we say and really mimicking it well…I guess that means no more bad words in front of him!

Poor Baby

March 9th, 2009

The End.

Tonight’s the night.

February 19th, 2009

Tonight is the night we have to move the crib mattress down a level. Matthew woke up from his afternoon nap babbling so I turned on the monitor to make sure that he was ok. He was fine. A few minutes later I heard his mobile go on for a second or two. That was strange so I looked at the monitor and saw that Matthew was up on his knees and playing with the mobile. It was hilarious! I ran to get the camera to take some pictures and then while I was taking pictures I thought that I should be video taping this so then I asked Matthew if he would wait and I would get the video camera and he said “ya” so I ran, and got some good video of him up on his knees and saying some of his words. What a crazy day!

Crawling!

February 17th, 2009

Matthew is officially crawling. He is such a monkey he wants to go everywhere. If I put him in the family room to play with his toys while I make his bottle he crawls his way to the kitchen slapping his hands on the tile. He loves pushing himself along the tile sliding himself under the kitchen table. He has gotten stuck there twice! He is so amazing!

Matthew and Elvis oh yeah and Dean Martin too.

February 13th, 2009

Tonight Matthew spent the evening watching Dean Martin and Elvis perform at the Paradise. He loved every minute of it. He was dancing and watching the performers with a look of amazement on his face. Matthew also said hi to many people around him. He was up into the wee hour of 10:30pm having a great time. The cutie fell asleep in the car on the ride home and will be up for more adventures tomorrow his first Valentine’s Day! What a way to spend his nine monthabirthday.

Words words words

February 12th, 2009

Matthew is expanding his vocabulary quite quickly now. He says: hi, daddy, cracker, quack, and he will pant like a dog if you ask him what a doggy says. He is doing something new everyday it is so adorable.

Upwardly Mobile Dude

February 2nd, 2009

Yesterday morning Mommy came into the family room with Matthew, holding his hands while he took a few steps towards me.  I didn’t think much of it, until later that night when Nonna and Nonno came to visit, and Matthew was walking around with Nonna, taking a dozen or so steps at a time.  Mommy let me know that that’s what happened in the morning too, he walked from the stairs right to me.  Our big little man went from us moving his legs with our hands a few days ago, to taking big bold steps all on his own (with our helping hands, of course).  He even tried climbing the stairs with Nonna, but he could only get his foot an inch and  a half off the ground!
